Not Your Mother's Martini

The iconic martini features a conical, stemmed glass cradling large green olives submerged in a chilly bath of gin and vermouth. Preferred by purists, the classic gin martini remains a cocktail staple, but many of today's martini-style drinks begin with vodka rather than gin.

With the dozens of flavored vodkas on the market come a multitude of creative drink combinations. We offer a few of our favorites―perfect for either a poolside party or an elegant event.

Bluetini
The aquamarine color of this cocktail comes from the Hpnotiq liqueur―a blend of vodka, tropical fruit juice, and a splash of cognac. Hpnotiq can be enjoyed on the rocks or with vodka for an electrifying martini. Read about the creators of this recipe.

Crushed ice
3 ounces (1/3 cup) vodka
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) Hpnotiq liqueur
Lemon, lime, and orange slices to garnish

Fill shaker with crushed ice. Add liquors. Shake vigorously, and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with sliced citrus. Makes 1 serving.

BT's Ringmaster Lime Martini*
The fragrant leaves and juice of southeastern Asia's kaffir lime give this infused vodka an exotic, refreshing taste. When combined with the lemon-grass syrup, this cocktail becomes intensely aromatic and soothing.

"Classic" Dry Martini
Yes, we know purists prefer gin, but try this version of the landmark cocktail. With vodka, dry vermouth, a lemon twist, and a stir, this take on the timeless drink proves that sometimes even classics can be enhanced.
