Scallop Feast

Look to the ocean for a new twist on holiday entertaining.

Holiday feasts traditionally focus more on meat and potatoes than seafood. But this year, you may want to experiment with scallops as the main dish for your holiday festivities, especially since the cool weather brings out the best-tasting batch of the year. And if you plan to spend this holiday season on the shores of the Mid-Atlantic or in New England, you have access to some of the freshest scallops in the country.

For a holiday party appetizer, wrap partially cooked slices of bacon around scallops and secure with a wooden pick. Grill or broil until scallops are fully cooked.

Here are a few recipes to get you started.
