Dinner, Drinks, and a Movie
Top off your martini-inspired evening with one of these classic films:
Casino Royal (2006)
Ian Fleming’s 1953 novel, Casino Royale, first introduced the world to Bond, James Bond. The recent film adaptation (available on DVD March 13, 2007) depicts a different
type of 007 than portrayed in many other Bond films. Daniel Craig’s take on the legendary secret agent reinstates suave charisma
and brooding danger. Take note of the drink Bond orders: “Three measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina
Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel.”
Swingers (1996)
Set in the 1990s L.A. lounge scene, Swingers chronicles the lives of a group of aspiring actors and wannabe ladies’ men. With a host of quotable lines and memorable performances
from Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau (who also penned the screenplay), Swingers is more than a series of one liners strung together.
It’s a humorous look at single men, life on the West Coast, and slightly dirty martinis.
