Towering nearly to the hallway's ceiling, the embedded 19th-century pier mirror kicked off Valerie's color campaign. She transformed the frame from severe gold and brown to fanciful turquoise.

Central to the dining room is an antique table Valerie found in India. Its cream-colored marble top blends with the soft greens above and below the picture rail. She rescued the chairs from a roadside garbage stash and replaced the cushions.

Valerie Moran's living room touts a refreshing potpourri of greens, including sage swaths of leaves in the retro sofa fabric by friend Michele Mancini. A hint of turquoise in the muffled-glass panes gives the French doors a subtle glow by lamplight.
