On a quiet stretch of Cypremort Point, Louisiana, the Regard family's fish camp stands tall.
Cypremort Point, on the shores of Vermilion Bay, is about 100 miles from New Orleans. The bay offers some of Lousiana's finest sailing.
Open to the kitchen, the bar wraps around one side of the screened porch. "When the windows and French doors are open, you can hear the waves crashing and the powerboats passing," says Jady Regard.
Prized family photos, saved from the original camp after Hurricane Lili struck five years ago, fill white frames in the hallway. (Just visible to the right is the door to the new laundry room. It's one of the few things Margie asked for in the renovation.)
The family kept the decorations simple at Piddlers Crab. White beaded board and whitewashed pine floors complete the classically casual appeal.
A must-have for camps at the Point, the long bunk room is perfect for overnight guests. "Everybody sits in bed and talks until they can't keep their eyes open," says Meg.
