Braff's work spans from the Hamptons to the Caribbean, each home carrying a warm, hospitable vibe mixed with a distinct seaside point of view.

“In Florida, you have to really bring on the color, otherwise things get washed out,” says Braff. “Something that looks fresh and pretty elsewhere can just die under the Florida light.” Braff brought punchy hues into this Florida sitting room through aqua seating and abstract art; sculptural accents in stark white add a mod touch without overwhelming the hues.

For this Round Hill, Jamaica, home, Braff made outdoor living easy with ceiling fans, lamps, and cushioned rattan furniture for lounging well into the night. Rattan gives this house a modernized midcentury feel and, when treated with a sealant, can withstand Jamaica’s high temperatures, winds, and occasional rainstorms.

Because mosaic tiles are a staple of traditional Jamaican design, Braff spiced up the kitchen in this Caribbean home with a mosaic backsplash in ocean blue and palm green. “Traditional tiling might have made this kitchen fall short,” she says. “These tiles give the kitchen a bohemian feel in tune with the island’s tried-and-true design.”

In the den of her own West Palm Beach retreat, Braff balanced citrusy orange with cool aqua. “When using a strong color like orange, I add only one or two accent hues—it’s less overwhelming,” she says.
