Overhead Impression

The dining room feels like an enclosed porch, with three walls of windows and doors. The design follows suit, implying that the space was once open-air, and styled with a hanging faux-weathered beach sign on the wall and a rusted chandelier filled with sea treasures above the table.

Even the fifth wall in this room—that would be the ceiling!—gets its share of attention. Wood beams lend the space an aged appeal, but a whitewashed finish keeps the look fresh. Combining the beams with the blue V-board ceiling creates a striped effect, which is mirrored by the table below.

Insulation: CertainTeed. Windows and doors: Marvin Windows and Doors. Chairs and sideboard: Somerset Bay. Sprinkler system and radiant heating: Uponor. Paint: Valspar.
