Painted floors in the master bedroom give the space its own identity, separating it from the hallway's high-gloss wood finish. "It's an old cottage thing. It makes the room feel contained, like you're walking into a whole other place," Tracey says. "When you come in, it's so serene that it's like all your troubles have melted away."
Tracey designed the master suite as an oasis, wrapping the room in sandy creams and watery blues in a mix of prints and patterns. To achieve a classy traditional beach cottage look with an urban contemporary twist, Tracey layered the room in a sophisticated damask duvet and cane beadboard, cabana-stripe pillows and distressed furniture, and a bold dot chair and modern lamps.
