Polka Dog Bakery
When Deb Gregg and Robert Van Sickle were introduced to a stray boxer with one eye, they decided it would only be fitting to take her in. Not long after, they began to spoil her with freshly baked food, because only the best would do for Pearl. The story of their pup led to the founding of Boston’s Polka Dog Bakery, a canine-only treats shop that offers oven-fresh biscuits prepared especially for a pup’s palate. “All the treats we make for our dogs can be eaten by people, too, but the difference is that we leave out the sugar, salt, and other flavor enhancers that make the treats tasty for us,” Robert says. Boston doggies are gobbling ‘em up, and starting this month Fidos everywhere can get their paws on the all-natural goodies in Target stores.
