“I have visited Tybee Island every summer of my life. I will be 70 in January 2010, and my first trip to Tybee Island was in the summer of 1940. My favorite time is the off-season, when all the crowds are gone. For the past five years, I have brought in the New Year with a kayak paddle trip on New Year’s Day across the Back River through Jack’s Cut and out to the ocean,” Margery says.
