Diving into the Deep
Operators often pick up divers either on the sands of Seven Mile Beach or from marinas in the North Sound. Some will even come to the individual hotels. Avoid the prepackaged tours that resemble cattle calls herding tourists onto boats. "Sometimes, it’s not even cheaper," says Butch Sjostrom of Seaports. The best operators keep the number of divers to a minimum, which greatly enhances the experience.
