1. Match 12-inch-long strips of silver dollar eucalyptus, Israeli ruscus, and lemon leaves, and secure the ends together with floral wire. Repeat until you have 5 lengths (for wreath) or 14 lengths (for garland).
2. For the wreath: Wire greenery lengths onto a 24-inch wreath form, securing every 6 inches or so with more floral wire. Repeat until the form is covered, and then tuck away any stray greenery with floral wire.
For the garland: Attach greenery lengths to each other about halfway down each strip, layering one over the next so that you don't see the wired ends.
3. Puncture the end of each lemon with a 10-inch length of floral wire, and pull it through the other side. Wire directly onto the wreath; wire to the garland greenery every 6 to 8 inches.
1. Layer 2 (12-inch) strips of sago palm atop one another over an 18-inch wreath form; attach to the form with floral wire. Repeat, curving the palm around the form until the form is covered.
2. Wire sprigs of Israeli ruscus to the interior of the wreath, working your way to the outside. Finish off the greenery by attaching 3 stalks of umbrella palm to various points around the form.
3. Puncture the end of an orange with a 6-inch length of floral wire, and pull it through the other side. Repeat with 2 more pieces of fruit, and wire each onto the form in a grouping. Repeat to create 2 more groupings around the wreath.
1. Buy 18- to 24-inch premade shell garlands at a local crafts store (such as Michael's or Hobby Lobby).
2. Insert a 12-inch length of floral wire through one end of an orange, and string it through to the other end. Add 2 to 3 more pieces of fruit, and tie to one end of the purchased garland using heavy-duty fishing line. Repeat until you've made enough garland lengths to hang in loose swags up your banister.
3. Use more fishing line to tie the swag ends to the banister. Tuck small bouquets of tropical leaves (such as umbrella palm) into the fishing wire around the groupings of fruit.
For a party, sugar the tree just before guests arrive for an extra layer of "snow," or opt for a flocked tree.
1. Choose an assortment of small fruit, such as Key limes, kumquats, and small lemons. (Larger citrus varieties may weigh down tree limbs.) Roll the fruit in egg whites and then in white sugar; let dry on wax paper.
2. Puncture one end of each piece of fruit with a 6-inch length of floral wire, and push it through so that it exits the other side. Wire onto the tree by twisting the floral wire onto the branches.
Attach sugared kumquats to a Styrofoam ball using floral wire.
String the fruit with a needle onto fishing line, tie a knot at either end, and sugar the garland in sections.
1. Choose a mix of lemons, oranges, and grapefruits in varying sizes. Slice about one-third off the top. (For the lemons, also slice off a bit off the bottom so that they will sit upright.)
2. Scoop out the insides of the fruit until they are clean, the same way you would a pumpkin. Place tiny glass jars (we used shot glasses and baby food jars) into the fruit, and fill them with water.
3. Tie ends of cut flowers (we used freesia) together with string, and arrange them in the vases. Place citrus vases on the table and on cake stands at varying levels, and mix in additional produce baskets filled with citrus.
