Open shelving makes grabbing the perfect bowl, plate, or coffee mug easy. The few upper cabinets we did install have screens on the front panels. "It's like an old pie safe," Tracey says. "It makes the house feel older, but it's clean and simple." To add more storage, Tracey opted for a walk-in pantry, compete with a butcher-block counter.
To keep the space light and bright, Tracey chose a sea-blue color with an antique rub for the island, topped with a white quartz counter. Modern, stainless steel appliances balance the kitchen's laid-back, lived-in feel.
