Bainbridge Island Vineyards & Winery
This institution has been bottling its own wine for more than 25 years, and maintaining its 8-acre vineyard even longer. Visit on Sunday for a complimentary winegrowers tour at 2 p.m., and enjoy tastings from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the weekend (one wine, no charge; four tastes, $3). For more information, visit bainbridgevineyards.com.

Kids Discovery Museum (KiDiMu)
Explore exhibits, create art projects, participate in workshops, and attend classes with local artists at the Kids Discovery Museum. Autumn brings a new adventure to KiDiMu with Arthur's World, an exhibit opening September 30, 2008. Based on the books by Marc Brown and the popular PBS TV show, the exhibit promotes literacy and problem-solving, and features scenes from Arthur's town. For more information, visit kidimu.org (check the event calendar for the most current schedule).

Bainbridge Gardens
It doesn’t take a green thumb to appreciate the quiet, calming allure of this 50-year-old nursery. Shop for a seasonal wreath, get advice for your latest landscaping project, or just wander the grounds and take in the colorful surroundings. Grab a bite to eat at the New Rose Café, which offers cups of espresso, light lunches, and freshly baked bread from the kitchen’s brick oven. For more information, visit bainbridgegardens.com.
