Housed in a converted two-car garage, the combo store-café came about when longtime friends Laura Grabe (and "art and design" freak") and Laura Jayson (a professional baker who owns Dough*Girl Baking Company) sought a place to showcase Jayson's baked goods along with the treasures they pick up on trips around the world. Stocked with finds from their frequent travels, Flea is a mecca for beachy trinkets, vintage memorabilia, and crafts made by artists from Manhattan to Mumbai. The informal café serves sweet bakery pick-me-ups plus savory lunch options. The pair also plans to start hosting a regular market outside with food and found goods from local vendors.
