Look to the ocean for a new twist on holiday entertaining.

Holiday feasts traditionally focus more on meat and potatoesthan seafood. But this year, you may want to experiment withscallops as the main dish for your holiday festivities, especiallysince the cool weather brings out the best-tasting batch of theyear. And if you plan to spend this holiday season on the shores ofthe Mid-Atlantic or in New England, you have access to some of thefreshest scallops in the country.

For a holiday party appetizer, wrap partially cooked slices ofbacon around scallops and secure with a wooden pick. Grill or broiluntil scallops are fully cooked.
