Grab your flip flops and Songs You Know By Heart album, because the king of Margaritaville is heading to Broadway in 2018.

Parrotheads, this is not a drill.

A brand-new musical, Escape to Margaritaville, has its sights set on The Great White Way, and it’s filled with the Jimmy Buffett songs you know and love. But it’s not just the classics—Escape to Margaretville will also feature original songs and a story set on an island escape (called Margaritaville, of course) where locals and tourists alike find themselves having fun and falling in love in paradise.

The show stars Paul Alexander Nolan as Tully, a bartender and singer who falls for a workaholic tourist named Rachel, played by Alison Luff. Buoyed by Buffett’s catchy tunes, Escape to Margaritaville is bound to prove its tagline true: “More than a musical. It’s a way of life.” (It goes without saying that this is a way of life we can get behind.) We’re expecting plenty of flip-flops, Hawaiian shirts, and breezy coastal flair. It is Margaritaville, after all.

Here's a little glimpse of the action:

With music and lyrics by Jimmy Buffett and a book by Greg Garcia and Mike O’Malley, this musical promises fun in the sun and plenty of songs you’ll be humming long after the curtain call. Previews for Escape to Margaritaville begin in Broadway’s Marquis Theatre on February 16, 2018, and the show officially opens on March 15, 2018. Tickets are currently on sale here and here, so you can secure your seats for this tropical musical extravaganza today.

Escape to Margaritaville has been touring since early 2017 in preparation for its Broadway debut, so a few lucky audiences around the country have already seen the show. The production is currently running at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans and will be followed by performances in Houston and Chicago in November before the Broadway previews in February.

We’ve been dreaming of an escape to Margaritaville for years, and now it’s finally going to happen, thanks to Jimmy Buffett and the cast and creative team of Escape to Margaritaville. Songs to the left, songs to the right—it’s a musical in paradise!
