2002 Idea House: Family Reunion
Built to Last
On the room's two sofas, a tawny silk weave is visually reminiscent of burlap—but surprises the touch with smooth softness. Rattan chairs trimmed in jute piping compement the silk. Images of the West Indies are woven into the plush area rugs. Abundant rattan ta bles stand ready to hold cocktails or an interrupted book.
Simple and User-Friendly
Stainless steel appliances and chrome fixtures add reflective accents. The sleek side-by-side refrigerator offers enough storage for family-size meals. A large glass-front wine cooler ensures the proper chill. ANd for afternoon cocktails, an ice maker is conveniently placed to the bar sink. The gas cooktop features a downdraft vent, eliminating the need for an obtrusive hood.
