As the Beach Boys’ vocalist, Mike Love has crooned over California beaches from Los Angeles to Santa Cruz.  In real life, however, Love hangs his surfboard in a Mediterranean mansion along the bluffs of Pebble Beach.

Love and his wife built the Monterey County pad in 2006 for their family, though they reside permanently at a home on Lake Tahoe. Since 2011, the home has been on and off the market, most recently listed for $6.45 million with Sotheby's International Realty.

While one might expect a surf-inspired beach shack from the singer behind tunes like Surfin’ Safari and Kokomo, the stately mansion instead takes its cues from Tuscan architecture, with soaring archways and a stone and terra cotta-hued stucco façade. At the entrance, manicured hedges and two large Buddha statues greet guests.

Inside, the home’s 8,900 square feet are spread among four stories, with seven bedrooms and 5 full baths (the luxurious master suite takes up the entire top level). Decorative features abound, from the wrought-iron railings of the spiral staircase and the stained glass window accents to the hand-painted murals and pebble mosaics adorning some walls.

Naturally, Love’s beach pad is outfitted for Fun, Fun, Fun. On the spacious lower level, entertaining areas include a home theater, wine room, and game room. The outdoor terrace is also party-ready, with a kitchen equipped with a pizza oven, a hot tub, and chaise lounges cozied up with adjacent space heaters. Want to take the beach fun to the sand? The home is just a quick drive to the beautiful (dog-friendly!) beaches of Carmel.
