Spritz your way to better skin.
If you’re a Sunshine State native like me, you probably have a love-hate relationship with your home. It’s certainly beautiful, but the thing I flip flop on the most is the 24/7 heat and humidity.
On one hand, it’s great to be able to wear sundresses and sandals year-round, but on the other, this endless summer can take a major toll on your beauty routine. And, let’s be real: Hot weather equals a makeup meltdown every day.
However, as a beauty editor who lives in Florida, I’ve slowly learned the tricks to making my look last.

One of the most important rules I’ve picked up over the years is that if you want your makeup to stay put, cut back on moisturizer. The reasoning: fewer products mean there is less to sweat off. Because of this, I’m always on the hunt for lightweight creams. While I’ve definitely found some that I love, there’s always room in my medicine cabinet for more.
Recently, I’ve added a new hydrator to my shelf that’s quickly becoming my go-to. Meet Lily De Mai Bliss NMF Transformative Moisture Mist (lilydemai.com, $65).
Lily De Mai’s entire line is created for sensitive skin, so there are no ingredients in this moisturizer that irritate, burn, or cause redness. Additionally, it has everything you look for in a skincare product: It boosts your complexion’s natural collagen production to firm and tighten, ups your moisture levels, protects against UV, and soothes.
The one thing that really sets the Moisture Mist apart from other moisturizers? Just how weightless it feels on skin. This is partly thanks to its spray bottle packaging that diffuses the formula into a delicate mist. A few spritzes is all you need to cover your entire face, and once it’s on, it feels like you aren’t wearing anything at all.
Because it’s a spray, it instantly creates a refreshing sensation, too, so I find myself applying it a few times throughout the day (especially on those sweltering afternoons). Beyond cooling me down, it helps revitalize the look of my foundation while also reducing any pesky shine that’s popped up. Basically, this lightweight formula was designed for Florida’s slightly unbearable summers, and for that, my skin and I are forever grateful.
