Three Coastal Wedding Cakes that are Almost too Pretty to Eat
It's about time you step away from whatever you're working on and take a few minutes to ooh and aah (and okay, maybe drool) over these gorgeous coastal wedding cakes. New Jersey-based Carlo's Bakery created these colorful confections that bring to mind the beach with every bite. Perfect for a wedding on the water? Certainly, although we think they might be able to bring a dose of seaside fun to any landlocked bash as well.
Let's start with my favorite. This cake gives new meaning to the words "sugar sand" with its sweet base. Fondant seashells adorn each decadent layer.
This nautical cake keeps things simple with a palette of blue and white. Rope and anchor details adorn the sides. We love how the knotted rope shows the two anchors are tied together - a subtle detail perfect for a celebration of love!
And this third cake takes the nautical theme to a whole new level with metallic gold accents atop navy and white stripes. The anchor and rope details get a feminine touch from the top layer's bow. Alternating stripes across the layers - horizontal, then vertical, then horizontal - makes for a fun and unique piece.
