Karyl says her family’s black Lab, Daisy, is the love of her family. “This was taken in Westport, Washington, where we have a summer home,” she says. “As you can see, Daisy knows that once she is over the dune she will be able to sprint to the ocean for a swim. We love this picture so much because it not only shows the beauty of the ocean and dunes, but also the beauty of Daisy as she patiently but happily awaits our permission to make her run to the surf.”

SPECIAL PET PHOTO CONTEST - SHOW US HOW YOUR PETS LOVE THE BEACH! In June, we’ll feature three winners from our special Favorite Pet Photo Contest sponsored by Iams. Winners will receive a gift package including a year’s supply of Iams pet food. We want to see your pets having fun at the beach or in the water. Send us a high-resolution picture along with a lively description of where you were, what you were doing, and the story behind each image.

Here’s what you do: Type your name, address, phone number, and your description into the body of an e-mail, then attach the image and send to photos@coastalliving.com. Be sure to tell us when and where the photo was taken. Photos must be in .tif or .eps format, and need to be high-resolution (at least 300 dpi). Please limit one entry per reader. Please do not submit anything other than digital images, as Coastal Living will not acknowledge or return mailed photos, or be held responsible for lost, delayed, or damaged images. All submissions become the property of Coastal Living. Because of the number of submissions, we are unable to respond to questions concerning receipt of a submission; no phone calls or e-mails please.
