Do you fawn over Fernet and skip dessert in favor of mini slugs of Underberg? Then this is the G&T for you. The mix of Italian amaro, sharp Indian tonic, herbaceous gin, and citrus bitters (our Test Kitchen recommends Hella Bitters) makes for a delightfully bitter beverage.
Try it with:Barr Hill Gin (Vermont). Made with only three ingredients—corn, juniper, and raw honey—this softer style of gin nonetheless exhibits incredible complexity.
½ cup Indian tonic water (such as Fever-Tree)
6 tablespoons (3 oz.) gin
2 tablespoons (1 oz.) amaro liqueur
2 dashes of citrus bitters
Tangerine slice, for garnish
How to Make It
Stir together Indian tonic water (such as Fever-Tree), gin, amaro liqueur, and citrus bitters in a tall glass filled with ice. Garnish with a tangerine slice.
