Do you fawn over Fernet and skip dessert in favor of mini slugs of Underberg? Then this is the G&T for you. The mix of Italian amaro, sharp Indian tonic, herbaceous gin, and citrus bitters (our Test Kitchen recommends Hella Bitters) makes for a delightfully bitter beverage.

Try it with: Barr Hill Gin (Vermont). Made with only three ingredients—corn, juniper, and raw honey—this softer style of gin nonetheless exhibits incredible complexity.

How to Make It

Stir together Indian tonic water (such as Fever-Tree), gin, amaro liqueur, and citrus bitters in a tall glass filled with ice. Garnish with a tangerine slice.
