What do you get when you mix one secretive restaurant owner and barmaid, a Pusser’s rum founder, and a drink blending competition? A nutmeg-freckled Tiki beverage that’s now known as the official cocktail of the British Virgin Islands.
1/4 cup Pusser's Rum
1/2 cup canned pineapple juice
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons canned cream of coconut [well-shaken]
fresh cracked ice
1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Garnishes: Pineapple wedge
How to Make It
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, and add rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, and cream of coconut. Cover with lid, and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into a hurricane glass or a tall Collins glass filled with fresh cracked ice. Sprinkle with nutmeg, and garnish with a pineapple wedge. Serve immediately.
