The Trident Sausalito, California
Although invented in Tijuana, the cocktail became popular courtesy of The Rolling Stones. After visiting The Trident bar in Sausalito, Mick Jagger adopted the name (and made it the unofficial drink) for the band's famously debaucherous 1972 tour.
5 tablespoons (2 1/2 oz.) tequila
1/4 cup fresh orange juice (from 1 large orange)
1 tablespoon (1/2 oz.) grenadine
1 tablespoon (1/2 oz.) crème de cassis
Maraschino cherry (such as Luxardo)
How to Make It
Pour in tequila and orange juice in a highball glass filled with ice. Slowly pour the grenadine and crème de cassis over the back of a spoon into the glass, allowing it to settle at the bottom. Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
