Bar Melusine Seattle
In 2004, Seattle bartender Murray Stenson was researching old cocktail manuals when he came across a Prohibition-era drink conceived at the Detroit Athletic Club. He resurrected the forgotten sweet-sour elixir, which should be served straight up, giving it an unlikely second act.
1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 oz.) gin
1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 oz.) maraschino liqueur or cherry liqueur
1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 oz.) green chartreuse liqueur
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (from 1 lime)
How to Make It
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker, and fill with ice. Cover with lid, and shake vigorously until chilled, about 30 seconds. Double strain into a chilled Nick and Nora glass.
