These Haircuts Are Going to Take Over Salons in 2018
We’re talking a minimalist style that lets you wash and go. It stays away from too many layers, and it works super well for fine hair. Some adventurous ladies are bringing it up to ear-length, but we always love the chin-grazing length. For a modernist spin, go with a middle part; but a classic side part makes it look simple and easy.
The super short pixie isn’t quite as in as last year, but we’re loving this long pixie you can tousle with texture if you have wavy or curly hair or create a sleek, refined look if you have straight hair. Keep the front section of bangs swept to the side for a flattering frame.
Low Maintenance Bangs
Shaggy bangs are in full-force due to their low maintenance styling and cool-girl feel. We’re seeing many bangs that aren’t full fringe or blunt, but instead go a little more wispy or part in the center. It’s going to make having bangs a less stressful affair!
This shag cut came into its own throughout 2017, and we aren’t seeing it slow down. It might not be brand-new, but it’s embracing the natural texture and easy styling of these upcoming trends (while adding a much-needed mid-length cut to the mix).
This blunt shag is all about texture and, unlike the New Shag, hits a little higher up near the chin. With or without bangs, it’s all about getting that mid-shaft volume with texturizing sprays. This style is perfect for the bob-lovers that want to try something new and cool.

Deep Side Part
Though middle parts are extremely popular on the runway, we’re seeing a lot of deep side parts that go Old Hollywood in nature, but accompany natural textures of all types (enhanced with styling creams or mousses and often air-dried) and lengths that range from bobs to ultra-long locks. A deep side part is especially fun to accessorize with fun barrettes and pins.
If you want to go a little bolder than the long pixie, take it shorter with this super pixie that welcomes volume and texture more than your usual simple pixie. It works amazingly with curly hair. Air dry with a volumizing mousse and finish with a texturizing spray.
The overwhelming consensus of industry professionals is that many clients are longing for long, silky locks that look great with their natural bends and waves. It’s another wash-and-go style that keeps hair straighteners and curling wands at bay unless needing to touch up just a couple spots.
Of course, everyone is trying to oust the lob as the most popular cut ever—and we get it, maybe its time has past. People still love the perfect length, though; and you can make it fresh and modern by going all natural. Long layers are added for some major volume and shape, but styling is only to emphasize, not change.
