Our New Favorite Polish Is Like A Wintery Version Of Ballet Slippers
It’s the warm, ladylike hue you’ve been searching for.
If your red mani somehow just isn’t feeling right now that we’re post holidays, and the frigid temps outside are a daily reminder that we’re not even close to spring’s pale pink nails, there is hope yet. A pretty little bottle landed at SL HQ and we immediately knew it was the polish hue to get your fingers through these pre-spring months (aka winter).
Smith & Cult’s new Powder Posse polish falls somewhere in the pink-mauve-lilac spectrum—and it’s utterly delightful. It has a nostalgic feel to it that will work for the current season and beyond. It’s a neutral, feminine touch for all those darker colors we’re drawn to during the winter months and will effortlessly transition for spring.
BUY IT! Smith & Cult Powder Posse, $18
So let’s talk about the elephant in the room: it’s pricey. We’ll admit that $18 for a nail polish is a bit steep, but it has convinced us to think about our polish purchases a little differently. First of all, every single one of Smith & Cult’s polishes are 8-free. That means they’re formulated without all those toxins with names we can’t pronounce. Not to mention, this polish goes on smooth and stays on. In a word, you’re getting what you pay for. We probably wouldn’t splurge for a trendy Smith & Cult shade—for that we’ll stick to the drugstore bargain brands—but a vintage-y, classic color that we’ll wear all season long will certainly be an investment we won’t hesitate to make.
