You’ve got to meet this watersports-loving hen from the Florida Keys.

It doesn’t get better than cruising the sparkling waters of the Florida Keys atop a paddle board at sunset. Unless you’re Keys resident Karly Venezia, who happens to have a very darling, very feathered co-pilot.

Yes, you read that right. Venezia and her one-year-old chicken, Loretta, appear to have a shared love of watersports.

“Loretta is very curious and follows us around the yard, and living in the Florida Keys, we like to get out on the water, so it only seemed natural to us to take Loretta paddleboarding and boating and things that we do with our dogs," Venezia told the Associated Press.

“We’ve only ever taken her out for a couple hours at a time, just out for sunsets. Once sunset happens, it is bedtime and Loretta is ready to go,” she adds of the bird’s regular paddle sessions—and roosting schedule.

Both Venezia and her feathered friend seem to benefit from the scenic trips and fresh ocean air. “Paddleboarding is very calming, and I like hanging out with Loretta. She’s an awesome pet to have,” says Venezia.
