Ready to have your summer made, and your mind blown? Check out these amazing getaways on Airbnb.com, those destination dream-weavers who make getting away a question of a few swipes and clicks. I've gotten giddy picking these out for summer escapes, and now my only problem is that I don't know which one I'd visit first. Which one are you booking first?
Let's start in paradise, shall we?
That's the view from Hector Cave house, a Santorini stunner that was carved into the Greecian caldera cliffside 250 years ago as a wine cellar. Now it's an apartment, and what appears to be a direct pathway to heaven. Here's all the details.
And while we're in Greece, how about a windmill to call your own, plus a 360-degree terrace with pergola, just 20 minutes from Mykonos? Check out the gorgeous interiors and views of Stavros Bay in this Greek getaway, right here.
And speaking of gorgeous, this exquisitely renovated 19th-century lighthouse on the Croatian coast has me looking for the first flight out of here.
Here's one more glimpse, just to get you booking that flight with me (check out more shots of the amazing showers and bedroom lofts, here).
Want your lighthouse fantasy a little closer to home? Got you covered with this beautiful and historic lighthouse (a former U.S. Coast Guard station!) on beautiful Wings Neck, near Cape Cod, MA. (See more and book it here.)
Speaking of booking, how about booking a flight to Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, just so you can spend the week turning your life into a Slim Aarons photoshoot at this beachcomber's palace on Isla Mujeres? I vote sí. Get the details, right here.
Not all Airbnbs are land-based. How about an excursion on a private 50-foot yacht from Moss Landing, CA, to Santa Cruz or to Monterey (one of our Happiest Seaside Towns 2015)? Whale watching, wildlife and wine... not to mention your own captain and crew. Check it out, right here.
Dreaming of more distant ports? I know I am, after discovering that this is an Airbnb stay (and hello, Mallorca):
Cinque Terre more your style? I've got a boat for that (all 60 feet of her, with private crew):
Want your dream boat in dry dock? Check out this fantastically nautical apartment right in the fun of it all, in Southern California's Marina del Rey (the water is just a block away). Hop aboard, right here.
Let me know if you book one of these fabulous summer escapes, or tell me where you're heading. Tweet at me at @traceyminkin on Twitter, post on my wall on Facebook, drop me a comment on Instagram @tminkin or leave me a comment below. Happy travels!
