Celebrate Alexander Hamilton's Birthday At This Gorgeous Nevis Resort
I love Alexander Hamilton as much as the next American. He's the first-ever Secretary of the Treasury (and star of the $10 bill), inspiration for Broadway's hottest musical, and star of a children's book. To celebrate his birthday on January 11th, I propose we all go to his island of birth--Nevis--and toast his eternal memory while sitting here:
... Or here.
This is the stunning Paradise Beach Nevis on Mr. Hamilton's home island, and it's a gorgeous new property (opened in June 2015). I've always loved the remote luxury of this Caribbean island, and now Paradise Beach brings villa style to the game. The resort has seven beautiful beachfront villas, and at 3,400 square feet with up to four bedrooms and private pools, they're like mini-islands unto themselves.
(Did I mention you can opt in for private chef service? Now that's sound fiscal policy.)
Nevis, with its castaway luxe vibe, has long attracted high-wattage personalities seeking time in the sun away from the flashbulbs (think Princess Diana, Oprah, Michael Douglas, Jay Z, and Beyonce). Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator and star of Hamilton, spent time on the island while working on the musical. Most recently, rumor has it that Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, was tucked away at Paradise Beach with his family over New Year's. Because this:
... and this:
No wonder everyone comes away inspired. With a week at Paradise Beach, there's no limit to what I might create! Let's tip our hat to one of our nation's greatest citizens and book a flight to St. Kitts/Nevis to get this party started. Happy Birthday, Mr. H! You're looking pretty hot for 259 years old.
(Thanks to Paradise Beach Nevis for the photos!)
