Accommodations: Two-bedroom lodge plus two additional sleeping quarters (a cabin and a safari-style platform tent); sleeps ten

Rates: $2,200 Canadian (about $2,167 USD) per week in May 15-June 30, and September; $2,650 Canadian (about $2,610 USD) per week in July 1-Sept1. Rates are based on weekly rental for up to six guests; there is a $25 charge per night for each additional guest.

Location: Oceanfront on Desolation Sound

Nearest airport: Campbell River (CYBL), a two-hour car and ferry ride away

Amenities: Open and covered porches, fully equipped kitchen, high-speed wireless Internet, laundry facilities, large soaking tub, wood-burning stove, grill, library

Need-to-know info: No pets. The rugged walkways make the site unsuitable for the elderly and children younger than 5.
