The theme is “nature meets neon.”
We all go on vacation for a lot of reasons: the adventure, the solitude, the opportunity to decompress, the mesmerizing ocean views. But, let’s face it: For many of us, there’s also that teensy part that does it for the swoon-worthy ‘Gram potential. The perfect #nofilter sunset. Those blissful (and beautiful) happy hour cocktails. That breathtaking view at the end of a long hike.
And while views are the ultimate in Insta-gold, there’s a new hotel that might just give Hawaii’s picturesque beaches some competition. Just a block from the ocean, the newly renovated Shoreline Waikiki is the latest trendy escape to hit Honolulu’s beaches. Bursting with electric shades, the design was concepted by Army of Moon People and reimagined by BHDM Design based on a theme they’re calling “Nature Meets Neon.”
In the mod lobby, that theme takes the form of an ultra-bold palette (think hot pink meets electric yellow meets bright turquoise and radish red) mixed with stark white walls adorned with white styrene leaves inspired by the island’s native foliage. (At night, the mood turns electric as the white walls are transformed with a neon glow.)

The boutique hotel’s 135 guest rooms are adorned in equally bold shades, with a bright red accent wall cozying up next to bright blue carpeting and green drapes printed with Monstera leaves.
For the real ‘Gram gold, though, head up to the tropical rooftop pool area, where a towering neon mural is the backdrop for hot pink geometric chairs and striped beach balls. (Bonus: The views up here are gold, too.)
