Filled with sloping hills, green valleys, and sun-soaked beaches, Virgin Islands National Park’s 7,000+ acres are easily a tropical paradise. Located on St. John, just a short trip from the mainland U.S., this national park is truly spectacular—and you don’t even need a passport to take it all in.

The park boasts history—think the legacy (and ruins) of more than 1,000 years of civilizations—and active opportunities in equal measure. Spend a morning observing cultural demonstrations, then head out for adventure or simply kick back on Trunk Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. However you choose to fill your days on this stunning island, it’s all time well spent.
