It’s the second year in a row travelers have crowned this beachy outpost the winner.
In measures of island swoon-worthiness, Nantucket earns every bit of our two thumbs up. The New England charmer is home to quaint seaside cottages, beautiful beaches, scenic lighthouses, and cobblestone streets lined with upscale boutiques.
It’s also the site of America’s most swoon-worthy hotel, according to you. Crowd-sourced travel site TripAdvisor recently announced the winners of its Travelers' Choice Awards, and for the second year in a row, the Nantucket Hotel & Resort was ranked #1 in the country (and #7 among hotels around the globe).
The rankings are certainly worth noting, as they’re based on the millions of positive reviews and opinions left by hotel visitors on TripAdvisor. According to the site, the hallmarks of Travelers' Choice hotel winners are remarkable quality, service, and value.
We can only imagine that the stunning interiors and prime island location also contributed to the blissful experiences of the Nantucket Hotel & Resort guests. (Ninety-three percent of the hotel’s nearly 850 reviewers gave it five stars.)

The historic property—built in 1891 but recently restored—boasts sweeping ocean and harbor views and easy shuttle service to nearby beaches. Guest accommodations range from hotel rooms to four-bedroom suites and private cottages, each decked out in casual décor with seaside, nautical flair. (Spring for the Point Water-View Suite—one of the best in the house—and you’ll never, ever want to leave.)
While the Nantucket Hotel & Resort is sitting comfortably in first place, other coastal outposts also dominated the Traveler’s Choice Top 25, including the French Quarter Inn in Charleston and the Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach, Oregon. See the full list here.
